Famous Photographer Spencer Tunick was in Playa Del Carmen to attend the event ‘Meet Spencer Tunick at THE BAR’ at the always fabulous Hotel Cacao. Having such a big time name in town is always a big deal and it’s even a bigger deal when they mention they want to do work in the region! The Riviera Maya continues to grow in popularity around the world and having our beautiful scenery depicted in high-profile works of art is historic in many ways. Especially when you see the body of work that Mr Tunick has accumulated.

Who Is Spencer Tunik?
Spencer Tunick is an American photographer best known for organizing large-scale nude shoots. Since 1994 he has photographed over 75 human installations around the world.
Tunick’s philosophy is that “individuals en masse, without their clothing, grouped together, metamorphose into a new shape. The bodies extend into and upon the landscape like a substance. These grouped masses which do not underscore sexuality become abstractions that challenge or reconfigure one’s views of nudity and privacy.”
